Game Grumps are currently playing Sonic Boom RoL and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, and the latter is exactly what the former should be and isn't.

While I won't deny that some war games are fun, it's still the case that they're taking the trappings of an experience which is actually quite horrible for everyone involved, then turning it into a power fantasy. So it was interesting to read about This War Of Mine, just released for PC, because it highlights the struggle of civilians caught up in a war.

Limbo of the Lost Ending

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6A1ZNAo3V84

What a weird game, the amount of stuff taken from other games/movies is baffling, not a single thing in this entire trainwreck is original except for maybe the ending. It was apparently supposed to be released in the late 90's as a completely different game before getting canned, but even that version would've had great levels of plagiarism, there was a gameplay video of it on Youtube but whoever uploaded removed it. Oh well.

There's a wiki for this game too, complete with a details on what was ripped off from what

The plagiarism is crazy, especially on the backgrounds. The whole thing reeks of Poser as well. I often plan artwork out in Poser, but that's mainly because I'm not really a 3D animator, and I wouldn't generally release unaltered Poser work as "final" -- it always has a distinctly amateur look about it (though that's gotten better with time).

Anyway, truly a game made by morons ... the "concept art" also blows my mind.

Bovis, who seems to have worked as a used car salesman, says he created all the art and most of the game himself, so I guess this is what you get. What "team" there is on the game had been wanting to make it since the Atari ST days, and were increasingly out of touch with game-making reality by that time. On an older game platform, perhaps their amateurishness wouldn't have stood out so much. The 90s Amiga demo listed, for example, has some background and design plagiarism but is something they probably would have gotten away with --
