Happy Birthday, Howard.

veering off topic but Roger Corman died the other day.

In another dimension we're talking about the musical version of "Bucket of Blood" (what I'd give to have seen Ashman's take on the beatnik scene and art world).

Another Griffith/Corman film, "Creature From the Haunted Sea" appears in the first draft of Little Shop, playing at the drive-in.

I expect Bad Like Me was composed (and recorded) after Bad was discarded, so it would've matched the existing series of beats to hit, storywise. The only vintage demo we have of Bad is, IIRC, the one with Howard and Alan doing it live to tape (the recording where Howard blows out his voice quite badly by the end), whereas Bad Like Me, Crystal Ronnette and Chiffon, Your Day Begins Tonight, and Mean Green Mother all have fully-produced studio demos.
You know, I actually made a video of what the scene might’ve looked like using the storyboards. You wanna see it?

The Library of Congress's Ashman archives? You'd have to go in-person.

Okay then. Say, you have that color corrected version of the early workprint?

There's multiple things you could possibly mean by that.

I never did an edit of the full workprint. I did do a few scenes from multiple sources.

It is easy to fix the hue shift of the "green" workprint using something like Fast Color Corrector in Adobe Premiere CS6, or Color Corrector in Final Cut Pro 7. (I don't know what you'd use nowadays. Da Vinci Resolve?) Probably on a second layer.

My Little Shop edit was put together in Resolve, and yeah, the colour correction facilities in that are very good.

One of the things I did in my edit that I still need to mess around with more is overlaying the colour from one source on top of another. For instance, the colour signal on the damaged tape is actually pretty decent if laid on top of the "green" or John Smith one.
