CLIPS IN REALVIDEO!

requires realplayer
These clips were personally selected by director Garrett Gilchrist as some of our very favorite scenes from the low-budget comedy classic "Dr. Fred's The Phantom Movie." They are blurry as all hell and you can't hear anything half the time. That's Realvideo for you. (Try to wear headphones.) But this might just be the coolest thing at the entire site, so a random lobster prize to you for finding it. The pictures on this page load randomly, so reload the page to look at different pictures from each clip. Unless you have a very very very very fast connection you will want to download these to your harddrive first before playing them. Right-click on the link and select "save target as..." Or if you're a total dork you can download the lame shorter lower-quality versions of the files with really bad sound and picture (which actually come from an earlier edit of the movie, esp. the last two). Enjoy these videos, kids. I always do.
Gerald & Ford's Audition
(3.85 MB)
(or 610 KB small version)
Two rather peculiar aliens audition in front of Queen Amadeus of Wyoming. It doesn't go well.
A, uh, Ghostly Evil
(6.01 MB)
(or 3.31 MB small version)
The aliens have failed their audition, and set up a pirate station in a basement, along with the highly evil Lord Hologram. Our heroes, Whis-Kei Jinn and Boink the angry Irish gnome, who have also failed their own audition, butt in to save the day, and reaudition for the Queen.
The Evil Guys
(1.8 MB)
(or 782 KB crappy version)
In the city of Coruscant, the name of which no one seems to pronounce correctly, Lord Hologram discusses his future plans with a can containing his assistant, Darth Ass-Kick.
An Intelligent Creature?
(902 KB)
(or 335 KB little version)
Searching for the underwater city of Lobudget, our heroes stumble across their comic relief, Sta-Wa Jinx.
Arm of Darkness
(2.67 MB)
(or 376 KB short version)
So Gerald lost his arm in that fight a while back. So what? Anyone who's ever seen a Sam Raimi movie knows what happens next.
Random Lobster!
(1.36 MB)
(Or 673 KB small)
Sta-Wa Jinx is prepped for stardom by the evil folks, and Whis-kei gives Boink his most important lesson.
Meet Your Pilot
(3.50 MB)
(or 359 KB short)
Trying to get back to the Queen can take time when your pilot is Leonard Cubbins.
Leave It To Lucas
(2.65 MB)
(or 319 KB lame version)
At long last, Sta-Wa Jinx gets to star in his very own sitcom, and everything is just plain swell.
Networks at War
(923 KB)
(or 511 KB small)
So the pirate station has moved to a planet called Vietnam. Whis-kei, Boink, Pilot Cubbins, Timmy the robot, and the Queen's servant Slapme Crunchberry are going to war.
American Graffredi
(5.94 MB)
(or a dinky 725 KB clip)
Okay, so they didn't get to go to war yet. Their ship crash-landed in 1962, and Boink died, or something. Here they meet Ford T-Bird, the fastest car in town, and a local boy, Annoying Bootlicker.
Bootlicker Residence
(7.04 MB)
(or 1.39 MB small)
Whis-kei and Slapme meet Annoying's legal guardian, Smee, and a Mucho Man he's built.
The Secret Word is "Yes"
(3.72 MB)
(or 1.27 MB small)
So they won the race and fixed the ship and hey, Boink's alive! Basically. And so is the pilot, so it's time to go to war, with the help of Captain Binaca and the troops. But first, a little game. And we won't reveal the spine-tingling ending -- that's for the real video release.
