Jason is the cinematographer and editor for the Los Angeles-based production company, Transcend Entertainment, which he cofounded. Their projects include the short films "Guilt" and "Room 220."
Jason's own projects as director include the short films "Quit", "Somnium," and "Three Times a Day," all of which have run at FFrevolution.com.
Jason, a highly experienced director of photography, has done cinematography and production assistance for countless projects at and around USC, and is currently editing the recent feature "Wandering Aquarius." He and Garrett met in a painting class, and one day each one showed the other some of his film work. It was then that Garrett told Jason about this idea he had called "Gods of Los Angeles." Jason signed on after reading the synopsis alone. To this day Jason has not read the actual script.
Jason's skill at lighting immediately made this movie far more interesting to watch than it ever would have been otherwise. Although Jason was absent during the greater part of shooting, working on other projects during the intense month-long shoot with star David Ashe, and Garrett had to light most of the film himself, Garrett says "I learned what little I know about lighting by watching Jason work, and by stealing his stuff, and tried to apply that to this film. Hopefully he'll like what I did. I'm not sure what I would have done without Jason."
Outside of the crazy random adventure that was Gods of Los Angeles, Jason and Garrett have gone on many crazy random adventures together. They shot and starred in a 40-minute comedic documentary about filmmaking entitled "Pirates of Film," in which Jason gives a memorable speech at the end. He also appeared in an episode of Fastforward Radio, at FFrevolution.com, as well as an episode of Jay Bauman's Monkey Make Movie.
