Princess Bowsette now playable in Super Mario Bros X.
(Princess Peach Bowser w/ Super Crown)

I regret nothing.

(Apologies for the gameplay, I wasn't actually trying.)

It's for Super Mario Bros X, a free program. Sprites provided above replace the second Peach sprite.

I'm not all the way through it, but I'm enjoying the free demo for Delta Rune, Toby Fox's followup to his smash-hit RPG game Undertale, which was inspired by Earthbound and Homestuck (which he did music for). Delta Rune seems to be very similar to Undertale, with a different story involving some of the same characters, and some more traditional RPG battle elements. Toby programmed this one alone (with art by Temmie Chang) and has plans to assemble a team to finish the game in full. Undertale was known for deconstructing the genre by presenting an RPG where you didn't have to kill anyone and could befriend your monster enemies. The writing has the same cheeky quality that Undertale did, where sometimes your arch enemies are harmless, and your friends aren't.

I see a few Youtube videos where people are modding the $300 1UP Arcade machines to run MAME properly, and that's a good move.

Here's a post where the guy is actually looking into the built-in hardware rather than sticking a new Pi or PC into it.

Well f...ornicate me sideways, that automated texture generating tool is bloody awesome! I'm in the middle of modding a game (well, I'm half-midding and half-just hijacking the engine) and creating textures or finding decent looking free ones were one of the main issues I ran into.
I didn't expect to find a solution to this problem there, thanks a lot for mentioning it!
