Also, I swear to god "Black Widow" is not an Avengers / Marvel reference. I thought it up the name and surrounding character in around 2010, long before I had any knowledge of the Marvel universe. I haven't changed it yet because I haven't thought up a good name to replace it.

A screenplay can't have a speech anywhere near that long, but you can get away with it by breaking it up and describing the animation and visuals of the moment inbetween.

I know; I might end up taking out the story entirely (though I love the general idea behind it). This entire thing is just a writing exercise and, right now, I'm not allowing myself to totally rewrite anything. I have the terrible habit of editing as I go and trying to make the perfect draft on the first try instead of doing what I think I should be doing; letting the first draft be a first draft. I'm just letting whatever happens happen and I'll worry later.

Though any tips do help. :)

I see writing like I see being an illustrator -- it's all a form of art. And beyond obvious formatting stuff, the only advice I tend to have is, keep doing it for ten years and see what you come up with at that point. It's what I've done (well, longer than that now - 15 or 20 years).

For Halloween, "This Is Rad" messed with the format of their show a little and read two short stories, each written and read by one of the hosts. (Except Burnside, the lazy overworking bum.)

Kyle Clark's story, "Draft of a Successfully Crowd-Funded Project," is about a down on his luck writer / blogger embarking on a journey to conduct an interview for a book he's writing and getting more than he bargained for. It's atmospheric, a bit Creepypasta-ish, and the sort of creepy-but-not-overtly-scary story that I love.

Natalie Hazen's story, "The Night Santa," is a bit more of a straight forward scary / slasher story (though I still thought it was great) about what happens after hours one night to a cashier of a greeting card store located inside a mall.

I'm without home internet right now, so I've been filling my time with working on the Return to Oz remake script I started a while ago. Here's a scene that I loved the idea of, and I loved writing, but decided to cut soon after because of a few changes I've since made, rendering it completely useless.
