Here's a few Christmas gifts for you, from Garrett Gilchrist and Orange Cow Productions.

We'll start with Richard Williams' Oscar-winning 1972 animated version of A Christmas Carol, starring Alistair Sim. Peter C. in England paid for and supervised a lovely HD transfer of the special for us from 16mm film.

And speaking of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, a few years ago I wrote a short novel called Cratchit & Company.

It's only 99 cents on Kindle and also available in paperback. I can also send a free Ebook if you ask me directly.

Bob Cratchit, a poor, underpaid clerk at the counting-house of Scrooge and Marley, has lost his youngest son. He is alone and freezing to death on a cold Christmas Eve, when he is visited by three spirits ….

"A wonderful new take on the characters from A Christmas Carol." - Carabosse’s Library

"Thought-provoking … Like being given a new dose of Dickens." - Lara Burnett

"Beautifully written, intelligent, bold and a real surprise." - Steven Drachman (Author, The Ghosts of Watt O’Hugh series)

You might think you know your Muppets. But do you recall Jim Henson’s very first major television special of all?

Now torrenting at The Pirate Bay and also downloadable below, The Great Santa Claus Switch has been very carefully restored by myself to bring you some rarely-seen Muppety holiday cheer.

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

On December 20, 1970, television legends Jim Henson, Art Carney and Ed Sullivan came together for one night of Christmas magic. Santa Claus (Art Carney) and his elves are ready to deliver presents to children everywhere. But Cosmo Scam (also Carney) has hatched a plan to kidnap Santa and take his place! One by one, Cosmo abducts Santa’s elves and replaces them with his evil henchmen. Can Fred the Elf (Jim Henson) save Christmas before Cosmo burglarizes the world? And will Thig and Thog (Frank Oz and Jerry Nelson), Lothar (Henson) and the Frackles ever find the Christmas spirit?

Featuring original songs by Joe Raposo (Sesame Street), this was Jim Henson’s first major TV special. It introduced monsters who appear in Muppet productions to this day, like Thog, the Frackles, and the puppet that became Gonzo. This DVD has been painstakingly restored, frame by frame, and features other Muppet clips to brighten up your holiday.

Possibly the most beloved Muppet Christmas special, here's a temporary Google Drive upload of the restored and extended Philfrog version of Emmet Otter's Jug-band Christmas from 1977 (also available at The Pirate Bay). The music was by Paul Williams.

If you're in the mood for A Muppet Family Christmas from 1987, here it is on Youtube, from the mostly-uncut European DVD. (The US DVDs are cut so heavily that they're not worth your time.)

Here’s a Muppet Christmas special you won’t find on DVD.

Now torrenting at The Pirate Bay and downloadable temporarily below, it’s Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree.
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

Join Robert Downey Jr., Kermit the Frog, Leslie Nielsen, Stockard Channing and a family of Muppet mice for this 1995 Christmas special.

Directed by longtime Sesame Street creative director Jon Stone, this special is featured here in full DVD quality for the first time in English.

This is certainly not the most popular of Muppet holiday specials, so I put extra effort into this disc, including a whole lot more Muppet Christmas fun and surprises on the DVD to make your holidays warmer and brighter. Trust me- there's plenty to enjoy here.

That incomparable animator Richard Williams and his team won an Emmy for the 1982 TV special Ziggy's Gift, animating the newspaper character with their usual panache. The special has actually been released on DVD, but here it is on Youtube.

At times like this, and for those about my age, it's good to remember what Christmas is really all about.
