Re: Animation Thread

I don't remember the season 1 end credits at all and they're kind of creepy. This big Garfield face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imofdv7szMw I do. I suppose we'll never know who was behind that idea for the end credits to have that at all other than someone taking advantage of whatever funky vi...

Re: Animation Thread

https://youtu.be/enJ6gP9JnYc?t=60 Clearly "Oliver and Company" inspired. I remember being 11 or 12 when I saw that ad and thought the same way (though probably though more Lady & The Tramp if any)! I never saw the song added to later versions of The Lion King. It's awful. Wrecks the scene George Lu...

Re: Animation Thread

In the 70s, Fred Ladd used to hire a Korean sweatshop to do terrible retraced color versions of old black and white cartoons. The Bosko cartoon "Ups and Downs" was missing its ending in the copy they used, so the Korean animators made up their own. It's badly done and very bizarre, with Bosko's mec...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

Neat! The animation is a bit more lively than the restrained work done on Ducktales proper .... None of this feels "Disney" but the work is good .... Too bad they didn't go with them (if the price wasn't high). Always a shame when our European buds are turned down over the Asian route. That Ducktal...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

I might be presenting a better copy of Fun With Mr. Future soon. By the way, notice that the holographic cartoon is about a fox and a hound ...? Yeah I noticed that now that you pointed it out, in some way, that's also prophetic in how those movies ended up being babysitting fodder in the home vide...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

Without going too heavy into it, it was studio politics. Eventually other teams were going ahead with Ducktales and what actually became Roger Rabbit .... Pretty much all his projects got held up in politics, despite the presence of animators like Chris Buck. They didn't understand it because it wa...

Re: The Video Games Thread

Her bitter ex-boyfriend made the first, lengthy post about her sex life, and was leading the charge at 4Chan to destroy her life this entire time. But even he never asserted that she traded sex for any status in the gaming world - 4Chan seems to have come up with that on their own out of thin air. ...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

Arrows Archive is a good source for vintage advertisements. Here are some animated ones by Oscar Grillo and company. http://www.arrowsarchive.com/search.pl?searchterm=oscar+grillo That one for McDonald's Farm with the bouncy sheepdog is my fave! I don't suppose anyone over there saved any of those ...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggmVm2ljDuw#t=749 Proto Roger Rabbit cameo in Soccermania at 12:35. Some of the early part of the film, with Scrooge, the nephews and Goofy as well, is a lot stiffer than I'd expect after seeing the rest of it -- and a lot more "Ducktales." I suspect that's the stuff...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

They appear to be the same drawing otherwise, apart from experimenting with the face and left foot. The bottom one shown in the special is better drawn in places. It does seem like an improvement there in the expression used (just odd to me I guess to see Roger without his overalls, either a gaffe ...
