Re: Super Mario Bros: The Movie: The Thread

By the way, the latest page is up. I'm very proud of all the artistic details and the narrative importance of this scene, so I hope that everyone appreciates it.

We update every week (usually between Wednesday and Friday) in case anyone wants to discuss each time.

Don't you just love girls cosplaying as male characters? I dig it. :yumeye:

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

So, why are there two cuts? What are the differences and which is "better," or are there positive elements to both?

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

Echo Bridge recently lost the rights to the portion of the Miramax library licensed to them, including the Arabian Knight cut. It looks like they went to Lionsgate, who already had the bulk of the library. http://www.lionsgate.com/corporate/contact/ Thanks! I was curious about who holds the rights ...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

Lovely. But what would happen? They would release the workprint, or there is something more to that? Depends on the label. Most would probably just license the rights from Disney and produce a new transfer, which I feel is more than adequate. It at least gives Garrett and anyone else a clean transf...

Re: Super Mario Bros: The Movie: The Thread

I have no idea how I missed the above discussion. At least I can say that I have nothing to add. Both of your assessments are fairly accurate. It is only very recently that I've come to realize just how bad the acting and cinematography is in some parts of the film. It's all very basic. I certainly ...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

You want the film restored or at least released in the best possible transfer? Do what we did: Send out some E-mails to various independent film labels. There are dozens of U.S. and U.K. labels that specialize in re-releasing classic and cult films. Some of them are even known for doing restorations...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

Love the comments from Parker. He and Terry could have gone far in the industry with the right projects. It's a shame they were attached to doomed films. Steven Drachman writes: Great evening watching Persistence of Vision in a packed theater ... You can't kill great art, and The Thief and the Cobbl...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

Was anyone ever able to contact Disney to ask what they have in their archives? It's fairly easy getting through the lines if you know who to talk to.

Re: The Video Games Thread

I'm really curious about this release, aside from having the rights to an HD release of the film, how would they manage to recover deleted scenes? You'd think it's just the footage from the Making Of/Trailers/TV Spots, but I'm really hoping here it's something more, either way it will be nice to se...
