Re: Animation Thread

Someone did an animated version of the story of Milt Kahl being enraged at Williams, as described in the Animator's Survival Kit:

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

The whole copyright system of today's world is corrupted and rotten. Richard Williams is the one who should have those rights to the film. Big soulless corporations have too much power and keep extending copyright expiration dates to infinity and beyond.

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

There was a pan-and-scan DVD released in Australia, IIRC. Garrett used it to enhance the middle portion of the image in lower quality Princess version scenes.

Re: The Video Games Thread

Heh, I remember seeing that after the first game's remake, as well as several more fan mockups. There was so much hype for the Monkey Island 2 Special Edition.

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

This is indeed a historical moment. Can't wait to hear about it either. Wow, the entire recent Wiki history of The Thief is people angrily asserting that a cartoon cannot be an art film. Ugh, now people here are noticing the drama too. I was the one who originally added the "art film" category back ...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

So, as I mentioned in the Livestream, I've downloaded and watched the current rough cut. You know what that means? NITPICKING TIME! :gopher: --Laukku's awesome and totally not biased review-- So, first I plugged by laptop to a 52'' plasma display to get a better viewing experience (tiny LCDs suck fo...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

This version also includes too much information on the left side, just like the japanese Arabian Knight DVD -- even more, in fact. It might be useful in making transitions more seamless between AK and wokrprint material.

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

Wow, if this indeed was the second workprint made by williams, I thought this would never be found! One thing I noticed was that at times there seems to be less hiss - one example is when Phido is flying to Zigzag's tower 35 minutes in. EDIT: Actually the whole thing is much less hissy than even the...
