Re: Random Thread

The search for Celebrity Number Six. A fabric pattern was sold around 2008, featuring the likenesses of celebrities: B-list actors and models. All of them have been identified except one, and the half-shadowed artwork is so vague that there are many guesses as to the person's identity. The person is...

Re: Things I Say

I've seen people defend recent Simpsons. I'm not sure why. I don't watch the new stuff myself; it might even be helpful to think of it as a new show, as I suspect those watching it are unbothered by nostalgia for the original ten or so seasons. John Lennon did sing about beating his wife; that is so...

Re: Recommend one song.

Extended KT Tunstall "Tiger Suit" with bonus tracks - early versions and demos- with different production that's worse than the spectacular final versions. Also a jazzy unheard title track, and "It Doesn't Have To Be Like This (Baby)." Best of the demos: a completely raw "Co...

Re: Things I Say

I vote Democrat. Anecdotally, I was receiving biweekly unemployment checks during the pandemic, which stopped the second Joe Biden got into office. This week I was asked to provide documentation from 2019-2020 again so they can decide if that money was "actually an overpayment."

Art dealer Bernard (Alan Cumming) is having the worst possible Christmas: his lover leaves him, and his conniving boss (Rowan Atkinson) fires him for having principles. But Bernard's luck starts to change when he befriends Josephus the genie (Lenny Henry). Bernard and the Genie. Richard Curtis-writt...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

"No storyboards" is inaccurate and spread by people with complete ignorance. For a start, the Nasrudin film was storyboarded in full --- there is a ton of photo evidence of this -- plus portions of the revised film to an extent -- and Williams was still using those old boards during the 19...

Re: Muppet Thread: The Henson Legacy

The Frackles are a kind of Muppet monster that debuted in The Great Santa Claus Switch (1970, which I released a DVD restoration of several years back, and is at Archive- almost all versions of this special online are my work). Frackles were recognizable background monsters in The Muppet Show, parti...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJ87hP7b2Sc This is roughly the ten thousandth video by a Youtuber telling the story of The Thief and the Cobbler's troubled production, while having done very little research before opening his mouth. While I appreciate the attempt, no one talks to me before telling ...

Re: Raggedy Ann & Andy Thread

(Movin' Along, unused Marcella song from the Raggedy Ann musical, from the circus draft) movin' along goodbye, familiar faces movin' along hello to strange new places movin along maybe I'll like it better (additional notes - by William Gibson - are handwritten and hard to make out) the beautiful thi...
