Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

You are indeed very right about the pacing of the production depending on by which extent each character was finalized for the final production, Garrett. It's something I wouldn't notice myself until I edited my ''All footage made'' video - which is still up, by the way. I should make a proper video...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

In Arabian Knight they clearly reshot it so the camera doesn't move at the start (but the Thief still moves like it does), my guess is that the full parallax version didn't look too good so they obstructed the start and end of the shot with a flat background and left the middle area for the effect, ...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

I dig the attempted parallax effect they tried to do with the thief on the tightrope (02:27 and 8:03 in the pencil test reel)

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

I've actually organized everything Nasruddin in sequence order using the script as a reference, lots of Chief Boozdil's boards in too. There's also Art Babbit's earliest version of the dying soldier as he was in the Nasruddin film, though it's difficult to know when it evolved into. Nanny with a cat...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

That's most definately Brazilian Portuguese on those Fanta commercials! :gopher: This image gallery is an absolute gold mine. Every single image just exudes all the excrutianting detail that went into making everything, there was no ''easy part''. Compare the Dick Williams stuff with the Calvert stu...

the Optimus Prims vs. Megatron fight from Transformers The Movie Uncut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3LJk0XT4tw The most fun I've had in a while, I used a special isolated voice/sfx track from a UK release of the film (Metrodome) and the soundtrack to sorta ''reconstruct'' the original, uncut sce...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

It's a very brainless video, it doesn't say anything that hasn't already been said, right or wrong, and like most it parrots the ''animation is good but story is not'' argument. The kind of people that make these videos review movies through a ''checklist'' of what they think it makes a movie good, ...

Re: Animation Thread

I'm waiting on the new storyboards, I haven't even compared the scene numbers with what they were intended/what they ended up as with the new scenes. I also noticed going through the storyboards that Gurgi does not mutter ''munchies and crunchies in here somewhere'' at the end of the movie, a ''crea...

Re: Animation Thread

I figured they were going for a ''Raiders of the Lost Ark'' type of ending where the Cauldron (or Ark) does the job out of the MC's jurisdiction, what I don't know what they were going for is the long Castle destruction sequence since it's even longer here (although I wish they kept the ceiling crac...
