Re: Animation Thread

That is REALLY nice. Though it's worth stressing that the mono cassetes are slowed down by 4%, so they're lower pitched than they should be.

You're doing one for Triumph and My Name is Mok too?

Re: Super Mario Bros: The Movie: The Thread

I forget, did I ever come back to you on that, Garrett? I still have the DVD folder for the old release with the 5.1 mix as well as the anamorphic Swedish version I used for my edit. For the audio I must've done some half-assed attempt to mix the music out of certain scenes, (stuff like the audio fo...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

I've previously tried tracing one frame out of the pencil tests myself (I forget exactly why) and even then I thought it wouldn't be up to par, it might be a fun experiment but from VHS sources? I would at least wait for a HD transfer.

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

You are indeed very right about the pacing of the production depending on by which extent each character was finalized for the final production, Garrett. It's something I wouldn't notice myself until I edited my ''All footage made'' video - which is still up, by the way. I should make a proper video...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

In Arabian Knight they clearly reshot it so the camera doesn't move at the start (but the Thief still moves like it does), my guess is that the full parallax version didn't look too good so they obstructed the start and end of the shot with a flat background and left the middle area for the effect, ...

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

I dig the attempted parallax effect they tried to do with the thief on the tightrope (02:27 and 8:03 in the pencil test reel)

Re: The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut Mark 4

I've actually organized everything Nasruddin in sequence order using the script as a reference, lots of Chief Boozdil's boards in too. There's also Art Babbit's earliest version of the dying soldier as he was in the Nasruddin film, though it's difficult to know when it evolved into. Nanny with a cat...
