A Look at the Dr. Fred 1 Cast's Earlier Roles

I just work here...

Before Fred: David Gordon
David Gordon is seen here on the set of Star Wars: A New Hope, trying out for the part of Jabba the Hutt. The nod went instead to portly Scottish actor Declan Mulholland, as George Lucas saw Jabba as a bloated, oozing Sidney Greenstreet type rather than a twitchy, volatile Joe Pesci type with a taste for nachos. The shot was cut altogether in the end, but reinstated in the Special Edition with a CGI Jabba, and it was Gordon's movements, not the Irishman's, that they used to create him.
Before Fred: Justin Bielawa
Justin Bielawa is seen here on the Return of the Jedi set, where he portrayed bounty hunter Boba Fett. To escape FBI recognition Justin used the stage name of Jeremy Bulloch, and to Star Wars fans this is how he is known, a figure as mysterious as that which he portrayed.
Before Fred: Jerome White
Jerome White stars as Rebel-pilot-gone-bad Pan Jurelle in a shot from a lengthy subplot cut from the first Star Wars. Little is known about this shot, or any other for that matter from the lost scene, and Jerome himself is keeping mum, but I believe the picture speaks for itself.
Before Fred: David Ashe
On the Empire Strikes Back set with Jedi Master Yoda and his creator, our own David Ashe. Ashe played Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back, but at the last minute George Lucas decided to call in Muppet man Frank Oz to redub all of Yoda's lines. Ashe protested, but eventually lost the battle, and was not called back for Return of the Jedi. It is still Ashe's performance that you see in the final film.
Before Fred: Garrett Gilchrist
Garrett Gilchrist is seen here with George Lucas on the set of Star Wars: A New Hope, where he and Lucas co-directed the film. Garrett asked to be given no credit for his work on the film, to which Lucas readily complied. His words at the time, as he recalls, were "Screw credit! I want money, dammit!" He stands by those words to this day.
Before Fred: David Brown
When Luke Skywalker sold his speeder in the original Star Wars, who did he sell it to? None other than our own David Brown, who paused in his transaction in the streets of Mos Eisley to give us this shot.
Before Fred: The Tiger
It's a little-known fact that the enigmatic Dr. Fred Tiger got his start on the set of the first Star Wars, where he was accidentally discovered by director George Lucas in a local bar. The Tiger was rushed to the set to appear in a brief scene inside the Mos Eisley Cantina. Lucas approved the shot, but marked it to be cut the next day, when Peter Cushing didn't like it. He was paid twenty dollars for the role.
Before Fred: Lauren Gilchrist
Lauren Gilchrist costars with Clark Gable in It Happened One Night. What this has to do with Star Wars I don't know.

A Note about the truth of these claims: There is none. In fact, every single thing on this page excluding this blurb is a bald-faced lie. We're very proud of that. Have a nice day =) .
